Photo safety, in plain English

This is the page we'd want to read as parents.

You're uploading a photo of your child to the internet. You should know exactly where it goes, who can see it, and when it's destroyed. Here is the complete answer.

The journey of your photo

• 1. You upload it — over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, straight to our systems. It is never posted, listed or made publicly visible anywhere.
• 2. We use it once — to create your child's illustrated character: their hair, their smile, their spark, redrawn in soft storybook style.
• 3. A person checks the result — only the small Tinytale team involved in making your book ever sees the photo.
• 4. It's destroyed — permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days of your order completing. Not archived. Not kept "just in case".

What never happens

• Your photo is never sold — to anyone, ever.
• It is never shared with advertisers or any third party beyond making your book.
• It is never used to train AI models.
• It is never used in our marketing — the books you see on our site are samples, not customers' children.

Want it gone sooner?

Email hello@tinytale.co.uk with your order ID at any time and we'll delete the photo immediately and confirm in writing.

The print file

The finished book file (the illustrated pages — not your photo) is kept for a short period so we can honour reprints and replacements if something goes wrong in printing or delivery. You can ask us to delete that too.
